In March, 20 workers at a brand new H&M store – in downtown NYC in SoHo - joined Local 1102, and they’ve already ratified their first contract, guaranteeing paid time off, sick days, medical coverage, and more. Local 1102 now represents H&M workers at 15 locations throughout Manhattan and Long Island, New York.
Walgreens workers in West Virginia just ratified their 3 year contract. Over 350 workers finally won a discipline timeline so the company can no longer pull them into the office and issue discipline for something that allegedly happened 3 months ago.
Today, unionized REI workers with the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU), and the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) filed coordinated, nationwide unfair labor practice charges against their employer, Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI), over the company’s bad faith bargaining practices and unilateral workplace changes that show a pattern of egregious anti-union behavior, emotional manipulation, and retaliatory actions against workers, such as firings, changes to work schedules, and disciplinary practices. Workers from all eight unionized REI locations filed charges with their regional National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) offices.
